Explore Cape Panwa and beyond

On land or in the water, there are so many things to do around Ao Yon: sunbathing on the beach, kayaking, island hopping and more. Discover what will make your holiday truly unforgettable.

Relax at the Beach

As the bay is protected and shallow, the water is safe without current, perfect for little ones to swim or play on the beach while parents relax and sun bath. At low tide, it reveals a myriad of small sea creature hidden at the far east side, creating an opportunity for adults and children to follow the local fishermen and discover their fishing techniques.

Thai Massage or Yoga

Famous for its massages, you cannot come to Thailand and not enjoy what is fundamentally part of the Thai culture. Lie down in the comfort and the privacy of your room for a relaxing full body massage or on your sun lounger looking at the sea for an energizing foot massage. We organize local expert therapists and private yoga lessons on demand.

Cinema under the stars

Imagine relaxing on a sun lounger while eating popcorn and watching your favorite movie under the Andaman Milky Way. We schedule Cinema Paradiso every week for the delight of young and old.

Kids activities

Ao Yon is an ideal playground for your children, offering fun packed days on the beach, swimming, building sandcastles, chasing hermit crabs and playing hide-and-seek in the sprawling tropical garden. While your children will be fully entertained and taken care by our gentle hosts, sink into a hammock or take a romantic stroll on the beach watching the sun slowly dip behind the hills.

Kayaking

We have both single and double kayaks available for you to glide past the sailing boats anchored in the bay, visit the western end of Ao Yon beach and for the sportier and more adventurous, explore the nearby islands.

Castaway Excursions and Island Hopping

Do you know that Koh means ‘island’ in Thai? Beyond Ao Yon bay lie the stunning Koh Lon, Ko Hi (also well-known as Coral Island) and Koh Mai Ton. Travel by long-tail boat and explore the inhabited beaches. Jump in the sparkling blue water for a unique snorkeling adventure. The coral reefs are rich with colorful marine life. If you are lucky, you may see a dolphin pod passing by Koh Mai Ton at sunset!

The Pearl Farm

The western part of Ao Yon beach is stunning as well as rich in local culture. It is home of Phuket Pearl Farm, the only and oldest Pearl Farm on the island of Phuket. Khun Amorn, the owner, farms his oysters in Ao Yon bay and is always happy to show you the different steps to grow and collect the best pearls before transforming them into jewelry. You can even customize your own design. A unique experience.

Cape Panwa

Located 5 minutes away by tuk tuk from The Mooring Resort, Cape Panwa has several cafes and restaurants, as well as a small street market with local souvenirs. We recommend a visit to the Aquarium followed by a dinner at The Panwa House, a magnificent Heritage Sino-Portuguese mansion on the beach of the Cape Panwa Hotel. Baba Nest is another place to chill out as the sun sets. Located within the exclusive high-end Sri Panwa, this rooftop is a must for a bird’s-eye view of the sparkling Andaman Sea and the southeastern part of Phuket.

Phuket Town

Only 15 minutes away by car, the center of Phuket old town has become a very popular and the most vibrant destination for tourists and locals alike. Discover by foot the preserved colorful streets of Sino Portuguese architecture with its art galleries, cafes, restaurants and Chinese temples. Do not miss the chilled atmosphere of the Sunday market. It has a magical feel of a festival thanks to the street performances and Thai food stands, along with the souvenir vendors, animating the old part of the town, transformed into an exclusive pedestrian area for the occasion.
