The Mooring Resort is located on the eastern end of Ao Yon beach, next to the chilled-out beach club and restaurant - The Cove Phuket. Ao Yon located on the Cape Panwa Peninsula is one of the last peaceful yet stunning bays on Phuket island and has two white sandy beaches separated by a rocky headland you can easily walk over. Sheltered by the Cape Panwa on the East and Chalong Bay on the West, there are almost no waves all year. Secluded and unknown by most tourists, it is enjoyed mostly by local fishermen and families on weekends. The rest of the days, you will have the whole beach to yourself! It offers stunning views of surrounding islands, such as Koh Lon and Koh Hi (Coral Island) which are easily accessible by traditional long-tail boats. Koh Maiton and Koh Bon are also nearby giving you the opportunity to walk out your bungalow, jump on a boat waiting for you on the beach and within 20 minutes be snorkeling with fish or sitting on a deserted beach having a picnic. Cape Panwa offers an array of unique authentic local experiences in a typical relaxed Thai atmosphere, a few minutes away from The Mooring. Offering easy access to myriad of islands, this part of Phuket has a clear advantage over Phuket’s West coast. To the North of Cape Panwa is Phang Nga Bay and its dramatic scenery of limestone karsts emerging from the emerald waters, Koh Yao Yai (30 minutes by speedboat), Koh Yao Noi and the famous James Bond Island.
